How our own wedding day changed the way we shoot

what it's like on the other side of the lens

We'd filmed plenty of weddings before we stood in front of the camera at our own. Being the couple for once gave us a whole new perspective, and it's shaped the way we shoot ever since.

The moments you don't get to see

On your wedding day, there's a lot happening around you. You're busy greeting guests, being pulled in for photos and making sure everything is running to plan. It flies by.

When we watched our own film and looked through our photos, some of our favourite moments were ones we hadn't seen at all: friends and family gathering, catching up, laughing and simply enjoying themselves. And, for us, Poppy having the time of her life with the freedom of the beach.

Why they matter so much

Those little moments are what make the day feel whole. Seeing them afterwards let us relive the atmosphere from every angle, not just from where we were standing.

So we now give those moments even more of our attention. You'll still get all the beautiful, natural shots of the two of you, alongside the people and little details that made your day yours.

Taking it into every wedding

Every couple teaches us something, and our own day was no different. Being on your side of the lens has given us a new appreciation for the whole story of a wedding day, and we bring that to every couple we work with.

The people who looked after us that day are on our list of recommended wedding suppliers. If you'd like us there on your day, have a look at our wedding films or check your date.
